Posted January 9, 200619 yr hi as you all probly now i have 3lovely budgies one has got the black/grey bit on the back of its wings in the centre and jj has got them on the outside is one a spangle?and shadow is a lintino so has none! :fear could you also tell me the egsact mutation?? the bottom one is pale blue its a tad hard to see this picture shows the blue more and his pale yellow head shadow(lintino)has red eyes but they did not show up
January 9, 200619 yr I can't tell from the pictures as they don't clearly show the wing markings. I can only say that the first one is recessive pied and doesn't look like a spangle to me. If you could get some clearer shots of the wings I'm sure we can help more!
January 9, 200619 yr ya ill try its the second one that has the outside wing markings oppeset to the first its hard to show on him becouse hes very pale ill see if i find a cleara picture of him
January 9, 200619 yr sorry ill try again i dident explain well.the pale blue one is the one that i think is a spangle he has his very pale grey markings on the outside witch the pied has a yellow on the outside and black inside this shows a bit better untill i can get one without the flash
January 9, 200619 yr I would say that the first one is a recessive pied too. The spangle looks like it has a yellowface too. The other one looks like a creamino although not sure because of the picture. You have some beautiful birds.
January 10, 200619 yr thanks for your help *is bias* what does that mean? sorry im not very clever at things like this!
January 11, 200619 yr I can't talk since I have two spangles myself, and it's my fave mutation so I'm Bias towards spangles.
January 11, 200619 yr thanks for your help *is bias* what does that mean? sorry im not very clever at things like this! Bias means they tend to lean toward more that particular thing or favor it more and they overlook any misgiving that come with that particular item.

January 17, 200619 yr Hiya sorry to jump onto the thread but I have a question about spangles. My Kylie is a spangle, now she has her adult feathers in her throat spots are strange. On one side she only has one and on the other three. But they aren't clear spots like other budgie photos I have seen, more like someone run out of paint and streaked them across. Unfortunately I don't have any photos as my digi camera isn't working. Do spangles usually have unusual throat spots like this or has she maybe some feathers to grow in still? Thanks Tracey
January 17, 200619 yr I believe it is very normal for the mutation. Did you check out Bea's Blinkie, in Lord Blinkie here is the link http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....wtopic=7836&hl= plus the one up more doesn't have them either.
January 24, 200619 yr yes this is normal the spangle gene affects the throat spots as well. Thank you very much for letting me know. I love seeing photos of other spangles because they are just so unusual and gorgeous. Tracey
January 24, 200619 yr hi as you all probly now i have 3lovely budgies one has got the black/grey bit on the back of its wings in the centre and jj has got them on the outside is one a spangle?and shadow is a lintino so has none! Hi can only say that the first one is recessive pied which is split to blue even yellow faced ( should produce some interesting birds the others are all out of the grey wing series Regards Docca alias Poppy
