poor kiwi was out of her cage for the first time i had to let her out in the kitchen but it has a glass wall with a glass door and kiwi was on my finger and shoulder for ages but my dad came in and we talked while we were talking kiwi jumped onto the cage door and it is the kind that closes easily and it closed on her and she bumped into the glass and lost sume feathers and it was a really load bump i told my mom and she came in and tried to get kiwi on her finger but the poor scared bird did not now my mom and she frieked and flew even harder into the window and fell to the ground i talked to her and offered my finger she stepped up easily but when i put her in the cage she closed her eyes but i taked to her for 10/15mins and she seemed better do you think shes okay?

Keep a very close eye on her. She has had a nasty shock and it will have hurt her too. Watch her movements closely, check for limping, and keep an eye on how she holds her wings (are they in the natural position when at rest, not one hanging differently, lower or higher than the other)

I would partially cover her cage, and keep her quiet and warm for a few hours.

If she shows any symptoms of stress, Id get her checked out at the vet. She will probably be fine though, but watch her overall behaviour, eating and sleeping etc just to be sure.

Anne

she seems to have relaxed and is still a little quit but is preening and i think feeling a bit better

Good poor little one, I would give her a restful day, talk with her make her feel comforable and trusting again. What a big day she had yesterday.

ya

:ausb: Poor thing, she must have had one major headache, hope she is okay now. :greenb:

You mentioned she's still a bit quiet? If she's not back to herself 100% it's time for a vet. There's no telling what might be going on that you can't see on the outside.

shes 100% better chirping playing etc......thanks for all the great advise

Just keep an eye on her. She should be okay but watch out for any strange droppings over the next few weeks and also keep a check on her feet for possible foot issues. Also look out for any unusual behaviour or lack of appetite. She should however be alright.

foot issuis???i dont think she could have hurt her feet

oh okay thanks

:) I can understand your confusion about keeping an eye on her feet.. (Laughing out loud) it does seem weird considering her feet are at the other end of the bump.. But yeah it is something to keep in mind and keep an eye out for :P ...

Im assuming your little one is still doing okay?
