A breeder in my area has a list of color types and prices and I was wondering what Harlequin and Fantasy refer to? Just so I know what I'm paying for.

A harlequin is another name for recessive pied but I've never heard of a fantasy. Sounds like a made up name for one of the more desireable mutations. Kind of like how pet stores call pieds "fancy" budgies/parakeets.

Yeah I had some idea of what a Harlequin was, wanted to double check but... fantasy is beyond me. *shrugs*

Let us know when you find out? I'm curious to know what they mean.

never hear of it but i would guess they mean rare types.

I was thinking along the same lines as eterri...a fantasy budgie sounds like a hyped-up name to make you think you are getting something rare. I wonder if they are pieds...or maybe rainbows?
