Posted December 30, 200519 yr A breeder in my area has a list of color types and prices and I was wondering what Harlequin and Fantasy refer to? Just so I know what I'm paying for. Thanks.
December 30, 200519 yr A harlequin is another name for recessive pied but I've never heard of a fantasy. Sounds like a made up name for one of the more desireable mutations. Kind of like how pet stores call pieds "fancy" budgies/parakeets.
December 30, 200519 yr Author Yeah I had some idea of what a Harlequin was, wanted to double check but... fantasy is beyond me. *shrugs*
December 30, 200519 yr I've never heard of Fantasy either, I hope they'll let you know what they mean.
January 4, 200619 yr never hear of it but i would guess they mean rare types. Edited January 4, 200619 yr by Nerwen
January 5, 200619 yr I was thinking along the same lines as eterri...a fantasy budgie sounds like a hyped-up name to make you think you are getting something rare. I wonder if they are pieds...or maybe rainbows? I hope you do get a reply, standbyme. Hopefully they are not charging any more for them or the harlequins than for normals...
