Posted December 17, 200519 yr I always thought Bluey was a boy until I posted a picture of him on here and someone said he was a girl. His cere is Brown but when I have looked at an old photo of him it's blue? Could there be something wrong with his cere? http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d137/blu.../Picture065.jpg PS What sex is his/her friend??? December 17, 200519 yr in that picture, bluey is most definitely a boy. but his cere is very brown now isnt it? i remember you posting the picture. i would strongly recommend you take bluey to an avian veterinarian to check for things like testicular tumours. take the photograph with you if you can and have them run some tests. how old is bluey?
December 17, 200519 yr He is 6. Could that be a sign of a testicular tumour? Ive finally found an avian vet about an hours drive away but I havent got an appointment until 10th January!
December 17, 200519 yr from what i have heard it is one of the only medical reasons for that to occur... although there have been occasions where a budgie with a colour changing cere has been unexplained... definitely worth taking bluey and the photo to the appointment though, as he is an older budgie, it makes the possibility of a medical problem higher.
December 17, 200519 yr My poor baby! Hes not having much luck lately!http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d137/blu.../Picture066.jpg Edited January 15, 200619 yr by Rainbow
December 17, 200519 yr To tell you you truth Ive never noticed. I got him when I was living at home and when I moved out about 2 years ago I left him with my dad as he was good company for him and we work full time. When my dad passed away in May he came to live with us. He had mites about 4 months ago and all round his beak was crusty and brown. Could that be something to do with it maybe?
December 17, 200519 yr i dont think so... as long as your sure that the mites have completely gone. let us know what the vet says, it would be interesting to hear the follow up from this. good luck x
January 14, 200619 yr Something would normally have to be introduced into the environment which had the mites on. Sometimes the mites are hard to kill and live in very small cracks in cages.
January 15, 200619 yr Can you put up a recent photo of him. If he has changed to brown it could be a sign of a tumour as pixie said. I would have him checked.
January 29, 200619 yr He said its probably testicular cancer :ausb: I posted a topic under Visit to the vet, Bluey has been to the vet with more info on. :ausb:
