lovely looking budgie, although his cere appears brown on my monitor!?

Whoops. Ive always assumed he was a boy because someone told me he was. Does it make any difference?

I cant get a clearer picture either because my digital camera is broke so Im using my mobile - it is brown though

if it is brown all over then it means bluey is a girl and in breeding condition. when the cere turns a very light blue/tan/white in means she is out of breeding condition. males have royal blue and pink/purple in some recessive genetic variations.

 

it doesnt make a difference really what sex - but people say that girls are more bitey and independant than the males.

Just from my local pet shop a few years ago now.

It chirps when you bang it, its a bit annoying really but bluey likes it and you can switch it off

Pretty budgie with his/her budgie buddy.

She is beautiful.

Maybe that explains her friskiness she loves getting frisky with this twirly springy thing with a bell on the end. Also she used to like my finger which was a bit embarrassing when my dad was here!

ahh but thats one of the joys of owning a budgie! both sexes do that, you cant escape that easily
