Introducing New Budge To Aviary

I am introducing another budgie to my flock of 10. Will it get along with the original budgies???

:fear kt

With 10 I imagine it would be the more, the merrier. After quarantining the new bird for at least 30 days, you could introduce him/her to the flock. There may be some minor skirmishes the first few days, but normally there isn't a problem since budgies are so gregarious. Is your aviary outdoor or indoor?

My avairy is an outdoor one.

Also, my budgies are breeding at the moment. Does that make any difference???

:D kt

I would wait until breeding season is over to be safer.

Budgies are way more protective around breeding season and they may attack a new bird who enters the avairy.

Just a question is the new bird a baby or an adult?
