Posted November 11, 200519 yr Sometime ago i had problem with my bedgies not eating veggies. Until somebody here made me realize budgies don't like to feed on the ground They like food that hangs. Then i realized that they loved (really)all kind of herbs, expecially fresh cilantro (coriander). Since then, i wrap layers of herbs, brocoli, peppers, millet spray in a spinach leave or lettuce which i clip to the wall with a plastic huge pin that they sell (at an exorbitant price!!!) in our fav store, the pet place. let me tell you : big success. They start sreaming at me when they see me enter with the tray of veggies. And 1 minute after i close the cage... OH YEAH!!! Salad time!!!!!
November 13, 200519 yr What a great idea. My birds are the opposite, If I hang anything they tear it all up then go down to the floor and have a picnic. Maybe its becaise when they first leave the nesting box, I put some greens, chopped very finely on a saucer or lid and place it on the floor of the breeding boxfor the babies. The Aviary birds would also rather be on the groung eating with the quails than eating anything that is hanging:blink:, with the exception of millet spray or corn- Yummy Cindy
