When I went out into the avery tonight, one of the budgies was sitting on the ground, it didn't fly off, so I picked it up. it looks very lackluster I took it out of the avery and put it in a cage on its own. It has had a peck at some seed, but looks dirty and sad? it is a youngster not long out of the nest. should I just leave it alone? can I feed it something? some egg yolk? or something like that to help it? Hubby refuses to let me take it to the vet (And since vets like to be paid I can't take it.) I'd like to help it if I can.

I am not a bird expert but all I would say is just keep and eye on him and watch his eating habits, if he is eating on a rare occasion then a trip to the vet may be in order.

I cant help thinking why your hubby woouldnt let you take him to the vets? Does he let you take any of your birds to the vet if they are sick?
