I Have Just Noticed My Male Bird Eating Some Poo That Had Landed On The Bars Of The Cage, I Know Its Gross But I Was Wondering If It Would Harm Him ? Thanks x

No-it certainly won't harm him.Mine don't do it but apparently quite a few birds on here do-it's been said that it can mean there is a lack of something in their diet but I'm not sure what.

nah they shouldnt eat it. sometimes mine pick it off a spot if it is getting in their way. shoulnt be eating it though.

Blinkie very occasionally plays with a poo if i leave one on my laptop. He doesn't eat them though.

My birds eat poo too! I have tried everything and I cannot get them to stop (vitamins, gravel, a grate one the bottom of their cage.). One in particular persists. It must not be good for them but I am at a loss :P

Put a mineral bell in the cage, and make sure you feed a huge range of gresh foods everyday. A bird seed like Trill is really the best too, so you know you are buying good quality

thanks for your replies - much appreciated. i have fed the birds trill from the day i got them coz i heard it was the best. will put in a mineral bell and fresh veg, thanks again. amanda x
