Scots Porridge Oats!

We feed this to our snails and they love it..we just soak the oats{unsweetened} in hot water them let it cool of course rolled oats are good for us as humans because of the slow release carbs..im diabetic on a reducing diet so I get this speeled to me by my practice nurse as the best food a person can eat (Laughing out loud)...so the question is can anyone see any problems giving this to the budgies..I recall someone saying they fed their birds baby food..its got better over the years but it still contains a small amout of salt and sugar perhaps the organic one would be better..if oats are are not off the list I would perhaps offer it twice a week..I am open to any ideas on this as I love to give them the best diet I can but at the same time I dont want to give them things that can harm them..Linda

I'm pretty sure that I have read that you can feed them oats (dried ones obviously). So, I can't see any problems with what you suggest there. Let a few more people have their say though, because like I said I only kind of remember reading it!

I don't know, but I would imagine it should be an okay food, etteri may be able to provide a bit more of an insight.

well oats are in trill budgie seed so i would think it would be fine as a twice a week thing.

Off course how did I forget that, Star gets his daily dose of the stuff.

im not exactly sure if there are different types of oats though. are there?

There are dehulled oats in trill seed from memory (i'm not bothered to get up and go find out).
