Need you help please.

One of my budgies has been in and killed my baby tiels.

I all so have some baby budgies which are about 2 weeks, i think i need to remove them but not sure on how much to feed them.

I have put the babys in a breeding cage but mum won't feed them in there so the only option is to handrear them.

Hi karen

i have done that, but i have got more than i killer budgie.

But i would like to hand rear them as well.

I'm kind of confused so I apologize if I make no sense but...

I'm not sure how removing the baby budgies and hand rearing them will keep the "killer" budgies from attacking the baby cockatiels? Won't the older birds still be in with the cockatiels? The only option that I see being logical is separating your budgies from your cockatiels since that's the actual problem?

okay thanks for your reply.

she has never done this before the cockies have had 3 lots of babies and she has never touched them. just don't know why she has decided to do it this time.

Budgies are full of surprises it seems. Maybe the 'tiels said something to tick her off? (Laughing out loud)

Had one budgie once that jumped on the male cockies back and bit him above his eyes.

^_^

They're like little warriors! Many people swear that cockatiels and budgies do fine together but these are good examples of how it can turn out the opposite.

It always seem to be the green budgies that do it

Maybe they're especially in touch with their wild side. ^_^ It would be interesting to see how budgies interact with other bird species in the wild, especially cockatiels. Or if they interact at all.

I recently witnessed the damage one budgie can do to another if you wernt here see snowflake in the sick budgies forum. budgies and cockatiels dont do well together i had to seperate mine after my freind told me how one of her budgies went in the cockatiels nest and mutilated the chicks. the whole clutch had to be destroyed by the vet.

Ive currently got a problem with my cockatiels , i came on to post about that maybe you can help me ? ill post it somewhere suitable.

Thanks natty

I will help with the tiels if i can.

If you want you can pm me as well

michellec, what did you decide to do?

I would definitely remove the budgies from the 'tiels. As far as the baby budgies not being fed much by momma bird, where is the male budgie? If you removed him he should be put back so he can take over the feeding duties.

Thanks for everyones replys

cockies and tiels split up. dad is in the aviary but you never see him feed the chicks. He feeds mum and mum comes out and gets her own food to.
