Hi, I'm new here, just wondering...

I have a sky blue male. What colours could i breed him with to get a really unusual colour? :(

Here's an example.

Here is Bluey my Sky Blue

I bred him with Spangle, my golden faced Spangle

And got two beautiful Sky Blue Spangles. Chirpy and Tiny

You really have fun unless you are a serious breeder. Than it's all work :(

Unless you want green babies don't pair him to a green bird (unless you know it's either split for blue or is a YF/goldenface)

What about a blue pied?

I saw a very pretty budgie (can't remember whos it was) it had a yellow body and a blue face. I thought it was gorgeous. If i bred my bird with a yellow one would i get that as a result?

err if you in fact saw a bird like that then it was NOT a budgie, you can't get colours like that, but a yellow face and blue body you can. Matched to a normal blue then the babies will be mostly yellowfaces as well.

Like this:

That would be a yellow Face type I (parblue I) Nerwen ?

You can pair these two:

and get this motley crew:

It's all fun! I would pair him to another blue bird, you will probably get a wide variety of shades. If you throw in opaline, pied, spangle, clearwing, or any other mutation or combination of mutations, your possiblilties are almost endless. :)

raibow I didn't know oyu had a spangle!! (second from right) How did that happen? *looks closely at Raibow (the bird)* was he a spangle?

nope  look closely at the body Daz.

a Golden Face (parblue II) Nerwen ?

:(Laughing out loud): I think I got a bit excited Rainbow, but that bird has a lot of white on the wings.

Daz  yes But I called him a yellowface 2

Rainbow, you have some lovely budgies.

 I think I got a bit excited Rainbow, but that bird has a lot of white on the wings.

Daz :( yes But I called him a yellowface 2

I think I have worked out how you are calling them. :P

What I would Call a Blue Mutant II You would call a Type I Yellow Face. (Yellow Face 1)

What I would Call a Parblue Mutant I you would call a Type II Yellow Face. (Yellow Face 2)

What I would Call a Parblue Mutant II you would call a Type II Golden Face.

Am I close :nest:

yes daz that's right, sinply becuase no one else had heard of Parblue, I stoped using it. Took me a while to jump the name to use the common name again.

But there isnt a type on the goldenfaces

I paired my sky blue with a double factor dominant pied and got these..
