Should water be given to budgies straight from the tap or should it be boiled and left to cool down?

mine get it straight from the tap. it is better to give them filtered water though if you have a water filter.

 

the way i see it is that if its okay for you to drink it will be okay for your birdies to drink too.

We use tap water, just run it for a short time before filling the dish/pot. Also never use water from the warm/hot tap as this can contain bacteria and also copper (if in the UK). If you have very old pipes then use filtered water to remove any lead or other nasties.

From the tape is okay but not from a hose. Especially if it is left in the sun.

I think if you're in an area where you have to boil water to drink it yourself then the same should apply to your budgies, otherwise tap water is fine.
