Budgie Baths

I was in a pet shop the other day and saw some indoor bird baths, it was like a little pod that you attach to the side of the cage over a doorway, it was all enclosed plastic so the water wouldn't splash anywhere. Does anyone use one of these? I was thinking of buying one as my budgies try to bathe in their water bottle :(Laughing out loud): I don't shop in pet shops which keep animals as I don't approve of the way animals are kept in pet shops and how they get there, so if anyone knows of a website which sells baths like this I'd be glad to know about it :D one that ships to the UK preferably!

I have one, but my budgies don't like the cover on it. They only will bathe in a dish on top of their cage.

As for UK distributors, I'd check ebay. Sorry, don't know anymore.

It's a line I want to sell, but don't currently have a supplier for my shop just yet. We use a pirex dish but we get very wet everytime. I have used a clip on one in the past and one of our previous budgies loved it. You may find someone on ebay selling them. :D

my budgies never liked them and wouldnt go in it. they only like to bath in wheatgrass or carrot tops sprayed with water that lay across the top of the cage.

It's only fun if they can make a mess! :(Laughing out loud):

I just found a clear plastic dish and feel it with a bit of warm water. I place it far away from anything that I don't want getting wet.

my guys have those little baths and enjoy using them. if your budgie uses them their great.

Until you can buy one, try a dish (I use one of my kid's old plastic cereal dishes) in the bottom of the cage. Yes, water gets everywhere, but watching them enjoy a bath is so wonderful it's worth a bit of water splashed around!

:(Laughing out loud): i just turn the sink on so that a very thin stream runs out, and chiisai fluffs up his feathers and plays until you turn it off. then he looks very miffed...

Oh I didn't even think to look on ebay! Thanks!

I tried with a dish in the bottom of the cage but they just ignored it, I think it might have been too small and not shallow enough. I'll find another one and leave it in there for longer :(

Where do you get your wheatgrass from pixie25? I've looked in garden centres, pet shops and online but can't find it! Well they sell the seeds online, but in 20kg sacks etc!

So they prefer slightly warm water? Tepid? I don't think I'd like to bathe in cold water come to think of it :P

Haha I can imagine Chiisai! :(Laughing out loud): :D

Ahh excellent! Thanks!!

Thanks for the link, the photos are quite poor on that site is that bath the type I was talking about? I can't tell from the picture, might email the site :(

i think this is the type your right the pictures are very poor

My budgies never bothered with them either, or my cockatiels with the bigger ones.

However they make great beds for hamsters.
