My old one was a bit like that.

It looks okay. Hard to tell in photos as cages seem to look smaller than they really are. Something to remember if you are building a cage is to make it wide. Height isn't important as budgies fly across rather than up and down.

It looks like it has a large height and should be okay for the time being. I agree with Bea the internal width space is what a bird really needs though.

Yes Budgies arenot helicopters they do perfer to fly horizontally...most of the time.

I think she might prefer it wider than higher but if it's only going to be an outside cage it should be okay for short periods.
