The part that cracked me up was when it says that the school didn't see a collar or tag so couldn't identify him. (Laughing out loud). I hope they really didn't expect someone to collar a budgie!! They should have been looking for a band, the twits. :(

 

Very cool story though.

Its a great idea to teach your parrot/parakeet its adress isnt it! Even the phone number could reunite heartbroken friends. Lovely story there

Well,what a lovely story! I remember trying to teach my very first budgie,many years ago,to say his phone number but with no success!

Wow, I just got the most hilarious image of Piper trying to tell someone to take her home. It would definitely be the angry dolphin sounds but to Piper it would be more like:

 

"What are you doing??? WHY are you just standing there??? *bitebitebite* TAKE ME HOME! GIVE ME MILLET TOO!"

My mum had a budgie that would welcome you to the BBC world service (off the radio) and would say hiss full name and address. :wub:

That reminds me of my mother's aunt.

 

She had a budgie called "Little Boy Blue"

 

He used to say over and over again...

 

"Little Boy Blue, 38 Hathaway Street Box Hill" (address slightly changed to protect the current occupants)

 

We always told her she could never move or if she did she'd have to leave Little Boy Blue with the new owners!
