Congrats on your new budgei! I wish I was reading posts this weekend, and am surprised no one told you this. Dont put your bird in the kitchen. Cooking fumes from pans can kill your bird. Please dont take a chance on that.

Oh god how could I forget that - yes Sarah dont use anything non stick to cook with it can be leathal. To be honest knowing that and you only having a small house I would feel safer having them both in the same room.

No, I had heard a little on the fumes from pans, but I've not cooked anything smokey (all my food is cooked in the oven apart from veg) and we don't have those fancy non stick jobs and I've made sure the house/kitchen has been getting lots of air through so don't worry.

 

I was a little concerend at putting her there, but I didnt have much choice.

 

I've been keeping an eye on her and she seems fine, so I think I might think about putting her in the same room as Patch soon.

 

I think she only had a little cold due to lack of care before and she hasn't been in contact with any other birds, so.....

 

Its tricky to know what to do for the best sometimes.

 

I will go with my instincts on this one, but I promise I'm not fuming Kylie out

I also have a lack of space, and don't use non stick cookware. Just to be on the safe side I move my quarantine birds into the laundry whilst cooking, and then back to the kitchen when i feel it's been aired enough. Just a thought. Wish I could see a picture...

I don't have any other rooms apart from the bathroom or our bedroom (no table or I would!)

 

Maybe after I have let Kylie out later I will put her in the same room as Patch, but not put the cages together yet.

Oh thats good. I think Kylie is going to be just fine, she and patch are going to have so much fun.
