how many moults does the typical budgie have per yer and how long does the process take? and is it normal for them to look "scruffy" during this time?

the reason im asking this is skittle seems to be moulting constanly (Laughing out loud) he is moulting again and it does seem that long since his last moult. could this be due to my bed room being very hot?

thanks

(i hope i posted this is the the right place)

I think warmer temperatures make them moult a lot more. Tobi is having her first moult and its into its 6th week now so I think its pretty normal in indoor temperatures.

I've also heard that indoor birds moult nearly constantly because with heating and air conditioning the temperature hardly changes.

Merl moults constantly. Normally just lil fuzz, but she's losing some feathers again but only small ones. In fact, there are four in her water right now :(Laughing out loud):

this happens a lot no change in the hours of light and no temp change

Thanks for all your replys, i was just making sure that this wasnt a sypmtom of something else.

Thanks

only if the pin feathers stay there for a long time without growing out. that is a sign of stress due to possible illness.

Also if the feathers are not fully formed before falling out again, that's not normal.
