Tonight i had both Blinkie and Pickle on their play gym. Well, Blinkie was hardly on it...he sat on it a couple of times. Anyway, what i was wondering is if there is something about green budgies that would make them more appealling to a dog than a blue budgie? When i first put Pickle in my room Mickey (my dog) stood on his hind legs to get a better look and then tonight Mickey was purely intrested in watching Pickle. Even when Blinkie fluttered down and was running around Mickeys feet Mickey didn't take his eyes off Pickle!! :mellow:

 

I also want to share that while Pickle was on the gym he started leaning for me the way Blinkie does when he's about to jump at me so i put out my finger and Pickle leap over to it!! Then he sat on my arm peacefully until Blinkie came over to put Pickle in his place. :(Laughing out loud): I ended up having to put Pickle away because Blinkie was being too mean.

Maybe dogs see in U.V vision aswell and that is what makes pickle so colourful to mickey, or mickey could be trying to really annoy Blinkie.

It's great that Pickle jumped on your finger but when hes fully healed are you going to put him back in the aviary?

I think so. I am taming him so that in the event that he doesn't heal well enough to go back outside he will enjoy my company and not hate life.

Maybe pickle is just a novelty for mickey as he isnt usually indoors? Its wonderful news tha pickle jumped on your finger!

Mickey knows not to mess with Blinks but thinks he might get one over on Pickle.

Well, apparently greens are supposed to be good for you... maybe a dog thinks along the same lines?

That's what dad said too Sally! And i will pass that message on to Blinks...he could be in for it when Pickle feels better!!

Isn't it nice of Blinkie and Pickle could get along well together and both of them are tame enough to stay with you in the house?

If only they did get along! Blinkie is a social PLEASE BAN ME!! who thinks that Pickle is some high tech toy i got him that squawks everytime you grab at it!

Huh how come you get to tame Pickle so easy peasy and he is an aviary birdie and I cant get mine to come anywhere near me even with all the love and attention I give them - little snotty snots!

Pickle is only quiet because he is obviously in some discomfort with his feet and wing.

Yeah true youve caught him while he is disabled just wait until he is all better you never know he could turn out to be WORSE than Blinkie hehe!

He actually went out to the aviary today along with Razzo and Budge. He was miserable in a small cage inside and miserable in an aviary outside. I figuired company and space is surely healthier. I've also put Gherkin and Buzz in a breeding cage so hopefully without Buzz to fight over Pickle and Lime will be at peace.

Oh I see he is back outside then, hope he is going to be okay, does his wing seem to be any better?

It's still sitting funny but he's been flying around with no apparent problems.

I'm not sure what happened with Pickle really...i just noticed his wing drooping one day!

 

The first 2 of Gherkins potential babies are to be named Rumple and Raquel. Me and Rach came up with those names!

Cute names I think you should have a Rupert too that would suit a green budgie boy!
