I think I can safely say I'm about 75% "finished" with putting the website together. I've got some great pictures from some of you (thanks!) but I need more!

 

Does anyone have a good photo of rainbows, lacewings, yellowface albinos, dilutes, clearwings, etc.? Anything other than pied, pretty much. I have plenty of pied pictures. (Unless you have a good shot of a clearflight, I still need some of those.)

 

I'm trying to get some good examples of mutations and I'd rather not do a google image search and "steal" the pictures. It's much better to have originals and as always, you would get credit for any pictures I use, not me!

 

Help?

 

Um... and a couple of questions:

 

1) If you have a budgie marked as recessive pied but it only has ONE iris ring, does that still make it doublefactor dominant pied?

 

2) Is the proper definition of a lacewing an all white or all yellow bird with red eyes (like albino or lutino) with brownish markings and a brownish tail or are there more specifications?

Can't wait to see your new site Eterri. I thought you must have been working really hard on it, because we hadn't seen much of you on here. When do we get a sneak peak at what you've got?

I think I might have it in a presentable form by the end of the week. Maybe. I'll let you know when it happens.

Are you wanting pics of birds on their oen or not. Ive got one of Tobi thats quite nice. Ive got loads but most are of the birds together?

I mean own not oen hehe!

It's okay if they're not on their own, I could edit the picture or maybe even use it as is.

Nope she is recessive pied one of Geoff Capes budgies - he is a famous champion breeder here in the UK!

I really love her markings. Seeing as you know her background and all, you should breed her. You know you want lots of little Patties fluttering around!

Are you kidding she is a SNOT hehehe. She is super beautiful I admit it but she is the most selfish little birdie I ever met and Ive far too many birdies already.

If it is then Lemon isn't a lutino....she's a lacewing.

That would be good because then she could fill in that empty space where I need a lacewing picture!

I'm almost there, people! I need rainbows, dark eyed clears and dilutes!

Hi eterri , this is the definition of a lacewing in one of my books if it helps.

 

"Lacewings are a composite of the Cinnamonwing and the Lutino or Albino. Therefore body colours, cheek patches, ceres, eyes and feet will be identical to that of the Lutino or Albino. As with the Cinnamonwing the ground colouring if yellow on the lutino from the white on the Albino form. A distinctive feature in a lightly coloured Lacewing is that the two main tail feather quills are brown."
