hi there

does any one know how to clean cuttle fish?

a friend collected loads for us off the beach,( it dun arf smell)

we've scrubbed it and left it to soak in some clean water. should we do anything else to it before we dry it out?

Hi,

 

I used to have a whole bag of those cuttlefish which I have collected from a beach. Clean the cuttlefish properly and just soak them in clean water for about 4-5 days. Make sure you change the water everyday. The reason for soaking them is to clean off the excess salt on the cuttlefish. It was known that excess salt on cuttlefish can cause egg binding in female budgies so do soak them properly.

I just change them after a few weeks or so they are only 60/70p, we dont have a beach to collect them.

 

I get banana and strawberry flavour ones too!

How on earth do they flavour them? Do they smell too?

Dunno they are pink and yellow but dont really smell of anything.

Don't suppose your willing to taste one and tell us if they really are flavoured?

I dunno Lin I suppose I could scrape a bit off and see - I like bananas hehe.

 

No Sky they dont go off - my birds are very messy and tend to get dried food stuck to them and LOTS of poop, I have a lot of budgie to clean everyday and dont mess about soaking things like that, lazy but I have 3 cages to clean out everyday, so I tend not to do the picky things!

I will but only a little bit, might even go as far as trying the strawberry one too mind you thats Tobis and she is a little poop monster as far as her is concerned so might give hers a miss till I get a new one!!
