Tomatos & Asparagus

Featured Replies

Just wondering if any of the above would be okay to feed. I grow my own tomatos in the garden and Ive some lovely cherry ones ripe now plus they are obviously organic. Asparagus I think Ive read somewhere its okay, just wanted opinions please!

I think the asparagus is going to make their poop different

I know for sure tomatoes are okay.

I read somewhere that tomatoes are okay but not too much.Am not very sure about asparagus though.

I just did some research and asparagus is not good for budgies. :yellowhead:

Thanks Millimi, I will try then with a homegrown tommy tonight let you know how it goes.

Anyone else birdies like them?

I have a book that says asparagus tips are good. I also read on a website today that tomatoes aren't bad, but most budgies don't like them. I've never fed either one to birds, although the wild birds will eat the tomatoes off the vine. I think they do it for the liquid inside.

yes my birds love tomato...that surprised me!!

My conure will eat tomato, but never tried the asparagus. As for the budgies, i've never tried either

I'm sure i read something about the seed things not being good for budgies, that budgies can't have fruit seeds/pips so i would think the flesh is fine but not the watery seedy part.
