Posted July 8, 200519 yr Well for the past few months Louis has been having his droppings stick to his vent area on a regular basis. in every other way he has been very very healthy but it has still been a concern for me . I recently found out that theres a specialised avain vet visiting the vets round the corner from me. So today off we went. The vet was very impressed that Loius was so easy to handle and inspect, he listened to his heart and went off to do some tests on his poo. He came back and said that all the tests came back clear and that he can't see anything obviously wrong, e.g no bacteria prolems, no liver problems , no hernias. so hes told me to give him trill instead of the seed from the pet shop and to stop with the greens for a while as he had a lot of fibre on his poo. if it still carries on there could be something more serious but that would mean lots of expensive tests and distress to the budgie and he didn't think it was likely. Had to say i was very impressed by the vet, though louis didn't like him much and even though it cost me ?25 its put my mind at ese that ther is nothing form with my littel buddy and i was just being over protective!! guess who getting millet tonight!!
July 8, 200519 yr Woohoo great news about Louis, maybe once he is one the trill and has scoffed all that millet his poopies will be fine. By the way my Tobis are like that sometimes totally solid just dont fall to the floor but she is okay too!
July 8, 200519 yr Well i think what with lois being a male and all he just can't be bothered to clean his own butt properly !! it took me ages to get him to eat his greens as well!!
