At the moment I don't have any quail and I have just located some for sale nearby but they are Japanese Quail rather then King Quail. I'm just wondering if there is anyone here who can advise me on the difference and put me at rest as to whether they can live harmoniously with budgies. My avery is equipped with nice quaily hiding places and grass and places to dust-bath ect. I've kept them before I just need to know about the different species. Thank you! Link to comment

Jap quail are more aggressive. It's not a good idea to keep Japs and Kings together. Budgies tend to be curious creatures and Japs don't like being approached. Link to comment
