Hi this is one of my cousins new babies, she has 4 with this coloration on them an have no idea what mutation it is and if its rare or a common thing as she would like to continue the line if she can so if anyone has any ideas on what it is please let me know and thankyou in advance for your help.

Wow, it is beautiful! however not many people that are posting at the moment to my knowledge aren't the best at mutations, said so themselves, so you may need to personal message one of the people that may be more experienced.

Not so good with mutations either, could possibly be high in melanin. Wait for others

The colour of those feathers is unusual. It would help if you could post some more photos to provide a better view. Feather pigmentation will often change after the first moult.

I that green in the wing tips is is usual.

 

I think I have one of these in my nest-boxes at the moment I will check.

If its a normal why the brown feathers?

the brown can be seen on the first 2 photos I posted at the top and will get my cousin to send me photos of the parents

It might just be my phone but mother looks violet green and dad looks opaline. The pied chick is interesting but I cant tell if its dominant or recessive from the picture. Judging from the photo I am guessing your cousin is colony breeding. If so there may be more than one father to the clutch.

The baby looks normal. Father is opaline, could mother be yellow face type2 or golden face?

Mum isn't a normal green, she's a yellow or golden faced blue which causes the "sea foam" look and so looks green, if she was a normal green the chick couldn't be blue... The 2 chicks that are white with yellow are yellow/golden faced albinos or "creaminos" Your cousin is colony breeding so there is no way to be sure that the green cock is the father. Does your cousins have any albino/lutinos in the aviary?

 

As for the colouring of the bird, it doesn't look like it's got all it's feathers yet, once it goes through its first moult I think the feathers that look brown will be gone.

The reason I said both green so you could tell the blue one behind wasn't the pair and she has a feeling the mother may have been with another male too. I believe she has an Albino in there. Also thankyou all for the help, I know myself I'm still learning and its great to get help from people that have more knowledge

The Opaline green pommy father could be split for ino, which would explain the cremeano babies, the dominant pied chick looks to be a mystery, could have a differnt father ? the brown feathered youngster looks pretty normal colored to me, I expect just some slight feather abnormality, that will likely moult right out after the first moult.

Yeah, I think the hen has been playing the field but it is possible that the cock in the photo is split ino.
