Yes all 3 pics are of the same bird, I have just taken those. I think they seem different because of the light in two different rooms. I will post better photos in daylight as soon as possible.
January 29, 201213 yr Author Unfortunately, I thought this cute bird was a male as the salesman said it was and bought it a month ago. But I really wanted a male since I tihnk they are more lovable and prone to talking. This bird is cute, hand tamed and she never gets afraid when I touch it and scratch her head. However, she seems to be very calm and does not even change its position for a long time (both in cage and outside of the cage). But she looks very healthy. This makes me think that she is not happy and wont be like a part of the family as my past male budgie, who lived years ago, was. In short, I am deciding to return it before we really get used to her, but unfortunately my wife alrealy did. Do you think that I should give this bird more time to adapt us ? Or am I right to think that it wont be like a male bird? What would happen if I also bring an English young male budgie? Can I tame it well when they are bought together ? I will be happy if you can share your experince and ideas about this issue. Thanks
January 29, 201213 yr Honestly i dont think it matter if its a male or female as long its a good pet, even females can become good talkers. I would wait till your budgie is fully bonded to you first, this usually happens after its first molt is completely done. Then you can try to introduce another tame or semi tame budgie with her. Do not introduce an untame budgie as you will have much more difficulty for you and might influence your old budgie to be scared of you too. Edited January 29, 201213 yr by **KAZ**

Also even if you got a male, it doesn't mean that it will learn to speak, it might not. Edited January 31, 201213 yr by birdluv
January 31, 201213 yr Hi there. A little problem might arise when you get another bird later on. You may have to keep them in separate cages. Your resident bird might consider the new comer as an intruder in her cage space & blood may be spilled. They could be quite happy together during fly time but it is usually easier to introduce a new hen to resident cock bird. Yours B.J.
January 31, 201213 yr Author Thanks for the advices I think I'll wait for at least one more month to introduce her a mate.
