December 27, 201113 yr There is no such thing as a KING BUDGIE. If you mean a show type or exhibition type budgie breeding with a pet type or pet sized budgie ...then YES they will with no issues at all I guess where you come from the larger show type budgies are called King Budgies Edited December 27, 201113 yr by **KAZ**

Few questions more 1. would offspring's be KING SIZE or normal ones. 2. Should we use a MALE KING Cock and a normal hen or opposite of it. Detailed comments will be highly appreciated.
January 3, 201213 yr Either pairing would work. The size of the bird would be somewhere between a normal pet type size and an exhibition size. You could then breed fom those babies and get other exhibition size to further increase the size of your birds... If you can get both male and female exhibition size birds I would do that... Even if they are both olive green. That way you could pair them up to ensure you have more Exhibition size birds. Then there children could be paired to your other pet type birds and the best of their offspring paired back to the original exhibition sized birds... That's what I'd be doing if I was in your position. Does that make sense?

Hi there, Can I just add a little more advice. A show bird for sale in a pet shop can no way be considered as suitable to build-up a team of show birds. If it was any good as a show bird, it wouldn't be for sale in a pet shop. It may look like a show bird to your untrained eye because its bigger but size alone is not the only thing a show bird needs. It took years of careful selective breeding to get show budgies up to the standard they are today. Pairing a pet shop show bird cock or hen to a pet type budgie cock or hen could take you 10yrs or more & you still wouldn't have bred a winning show bird. If you are serious about wanting to breed show birds, do what everyone else does who can't afford to buy them Befriend a show bird breeder. visit a show or join a club. Breeders are always willing to help new members. If on the other hand you do decide to go ahead & buy a pet shop show bird. be warned that it will introduce the buff factor , known as the ugly gene into your pretty pet birds this will affect the feathering. Sorry if I rambled on a bit, but you did ask for more details Yours B.J Edited January 4, 201213 yr by Bird Junky
January 5, 201213 yr I'm not sure how far Rawalpindi is from Lahore but that is where the Budgerigar Society of Pakistan is based... If showing is what you are interested in then that might be an option otherwise I'd just breed the olive green exhibition with your pet types...
