June 10, 201113 yr Wow !! Bit of a surprise ................let us know if there's a catalogue coming out Phill Big surprise - just got into the Hall of Fame this year. Might as well go out on top! Cheers PT
June 10, 201113 yr I wonder where this came from? Will be a MASSIVE auction! Wonder if I can organise a trip to Sydney in Sept :-)
June 10, 201113 yr Mark has advised that the reason relates to spending more time with the family and growing work commitments. Ours is a time consuming hobby. He has rightfully earned his status as a legend. Nice bloke too. I expect the Auction to be BIG. Good luck to him.
June 11, 201113 yr I really like his birds but I have never been able to win the bidding at the auctions. As they sell for big dollars, as you would expect from a champion breeder. I'm sure this auction will be HUGE!

June 15, 201113 yr Author Well I guess if he is selling out,he wont be bidding on his own birds,If he dose, buyer beware. Considering the quality of Marks birds,i don't think he has to.
July 26, 201113 yr Anyone hazard a guess what the average might be, does anyone have any idea of the amount of birds he keeps? I am seriously thinking about making the 10 hour trek up the Hume. I have been out of the game for a few years and promised myself that if I got back it I would use his birds as my foundation. I would probably have to get some cages, and maybe an aviary first
July 26, 201113 yr It would be unusual to get a bird of marks for $400.............an average would be $1,000 upwards.

August 17, 201113 yr Well I'm a wally aren't I posting about this in the news section last night! Sheesh. I am madly in love with Lot 12, but I have been told by an open breeder in my club you wont get a bird under $1000 either. Bugger!
August 21, 201113 yr Hypothetical Question , How many Breeders will be at this auction? And How many will be Serious Purchasers?
