Entry Start Date: 1/5/05 Entry End Date: 31/5/05 Sent in by: Emma Rose Location: Western Australia, Australia Discription: The name of the budgie featured in the picture is Coco. She?s 13-years-old (12 in the photo), and is a fairly tame lutino. I?ve had Coco since she was six weeks old (I was 4), and I?ve been told that she?s surpassed a budgie?s ?expected? life span. Coco enjoys making noise; eating basil, dropping matches off the side of the ironing board and then listening to the sound of them hitting the ground; chirping along when I play the piano; sitting on my shoulder, cuttlefish and her swing; playing with her bell, and scaling the cane chairs in our house (she?s an awesome climber)! And the defining factor for why she should be ?budgie of the month?: Firstly, she?s oh so cute, and secondly, do you know of many 12-year-old budgies who will actually willingly ride along on a toy sports car? May 14, 200520 yr Wowza! When I received an email telling me that Coco had won 'Budgie of the Month', I felt that I should definitely register here, out of respect. Plus: there are some threads that I shall post in anyway. Thanks for the sweet comments, guys. My friends all roll their eyes at any mention of Coco's name, because they know that I'm obsessed with her! I've got a photo of her on the back of my mobile phone; in my wallet, and she's my personal photo at a few internet forums. The thing is: Mum's allergic to the hair/fur on cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, etc. so Coco's the only long-lasting pet I've ever had. I've had some short-lived hermit crabs and goldfish over the years, and one other budgie who had to be put down after only having it for a year; but I've had Coco since she was six weeks old, so there's a huge sentimental value with her, for me. Also, the fact that she's much friendlier/more comfortable around me than the rest of my family, makes me chuckle with glee. Anyway, I'll stop typing now... I have a habit of rambling, as you can see. :(Laughing out loud): does the car move along or is it just a model?doing well for a 12 year old! It does move, but not electronically. I give it a push, and she rides along on it for as long as it keeps moving. That'd be cool if it was electronic; that reminds me of that adorable bird in 'Home Alone 3'. Love that scene with the crackers! :parrot:
