hi kaz the useable space is about 1.5 long 0.9m wide and 1.8m high. plus it has space in behind safety door. the safety door is 50x50cm. how many budgies do you think i could put in it ?

i actually like this one

and i think its got potential to vamp up( or if you like **** your aviary :) )

250 is great for that as long as its got no rust

your birds would fit in that with room to expand a bit

i kept 40 birds in my 6 by 4 foot flight same height so they were comphy just need to set it out correctly so they are not crammed and can fly

its easy done

no more than 40 though

Thanks GB, 40 is plenty i will try and get him down to 220 i think that is enough for it ;) . i don't think its got any rust in it but you can't see the bottom frame from seed and soil.

That is a very good aviary! I wish I could find one like that when I was looking, I am happy with mine but it doesn't have a safety door :/ I paid $280 for mine, but it was quite a bit bigger I think. Good luck with your aviary! :)

Hi. What you could do later, when money is available is extend it out from the escape door back.

That would make it wider, I personal don't like narrow flights because the rain will wet the seed, unless you put up some plastic or something.

But saying that is is a nice flight and they are hard to pick up. AND it would cost more to make one than $250. Good luck with it all.

Thanks Splat, i can put the seed on the shelf that is behind the safety door as it is fully protected from the weather. because the entrance door has a clear plastic blind and the end of aviary also has a clear blind B)

HI Guys. today i went and saw the bloke about the aviary, he is willing to hold it for a few weeks for me. and from him i picked up 4 breeding cabinets with dividers to make 2 long cabinets for $60 they are near new only used for a few weeks. i think i got a great deal :D. and i have found Polystyrene sheet insulation 10 sheets 1200mm x 600mm x 40mm (4 feet x 2 feet x 1.5 inches) for $ 66 ;), i will call them tomorrow and see if they will sell less sheets as 10 is too many for my roof.
