Posted May 24, 201114 yr Hi guys i was wondering how many budgies can fit in these aviaries as i have a choice of two, with no nest boxes as i am breeding them in cabients. i would just use it as a holding can you guys tell tell me which one is better aviary Aviary 1 Aviary 2 Height : 1835 mm Height -1540 mm Width : 1245 mm Width 1500 mm Depth : 775 mm Depth 780 mm aviary 2 Aviary 1
May 25, 201114 yr Aviary 2 looks better to me. Larger and the door is better for not loosing birds than the first aviary. I reckon maybe 10 or so budgies just a guess.

Thankyou Super Spangle i would appreciate more opinion on which aviary is better and how many budgies i can fit in them. i will most likey get aviary 2 as its closer to me. aviary 1 is like 110 kilometers plus away from me
May 25, 201114 yr Both aviaries have no safety door and will have escape issues if you cannot rig up something to allow in and out safety. Let us know your budget and approx location so we can help you search
May 25, 201114 yr Author Both aviaries have no safety door and will have escape issues if you cannot rig up something to allow in and out safety. Let us know your budget and approx location so we can help you search HI, Kaz my area postcode is 5013 and my budget is around $200, the new aviary can be 2.0m long max & 0.76m wide max. but not important as i can make the bird room door smaller & the height around 1.8m. i will join it to my bird room and make a saftey cage. my birdroom is newlly made i need to still insulate it i am currently bidding on ebay on some foil roof insulation. as i have condensation building up on the roof. and the insulation should make it a bit warmer. heres the link for it http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130523586383&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT i have included a diagram of my setup.
May 25, 201114 yr If you access the aviary through your birdroom, there would be NO NEED for a safety door/safety cage area. Got a photo of your breeding room ?

May 26, 201114 yr Author Hi, here is some photos of my bird room setup. i built it from scratch is only cost my around $150
May 26, 201114 yr Author For 150 that is awsome wel done Thank you Super Spangle, i just have to insulate it now, as it gets a bit chilly her in SA & find a flight aviary .
May 29, 201114 yr Author Hi guys, just another update. i forgot that i was bidding on the roofing foil insulation and got out bidded , i was not happy i really want to insulate my bird room from some of the cold. i woke up early yesterday you should have seen the condensation on the roof. but now i have now found 12 Polystyrene Sheets to bid on again on ebay buy this time i will not let them getaway unless its out of my price range the sheets are 2290mm long x 725mm wide x 15mm thick, i think i should be able to insulate most of the bird room, might put two layers on the roof. May 29, 201114 yr i have an idea why dont you make around the window a small cage 90 cm off wall or more if you can and height being just bellow window then go out side and make a pop out off the window this way you can have it off the ground and you can have it 1100 out by the side of shed long and as deep as just bellow window again it would be easy to have a door big enough to put a net in and catch up any birds you may need to catch easy enough if thought out first and you could cover top with clear sun tough and make a screen from mess to cover it in summer also can cover half the flight in window side with it to keep chill from blowing in window at night in winter you can close your birds in till morning if stormy like mine on smaller scale inside here is a link to my flight bird room the window is not in here so i will go take picture today for you and ps if likk doesnt work sorry just copy into new tab im still **** at links http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=29266&st=20
May 29, 201114 yr here i got some pics for you from side angle side on see the clear stuff frount on the match stick blind keeps poo from other birds out and in winter their is a shade cloth 75 percent block to keep chill out side veiw other side you can see the shade blind under the shade sun block (its actually for summer days on sky light biut in winter works as a rain mister only letting in bit rain for birds rather than them getting them selfs soked on bad days they may be out inside got orange spots ive had no deaths or hits on window birds are in better condition and can go into weather as please exept when i decide or if they are ill anyways thats it
May 30, 201114 yr Author Thanks GB for that great idea i'll most likely put another window in on the end of the bird room next to the other window and make one thats 1.7m wide about say 1m deep. as my dad would not agree with taking up more of lawn, it was hard enough to bet this birdroom, wait until i get an aviary . Another question for you GB what do you think the minimum width i should make the flight area inside the birdroom as it is not that big is 0.70m big enough?
May 30, 201114 yr im sorry hun your asking on very dyslexic person here so numbers mean not much to me like that if you could tell me in feet i may be able to help but im guessing its not much shorter than 90 cm ?? anyways you only have how many birds now to have in it ?? and with the pop out bit well you could tell your dad you could build a veggie patch under the space you use as pop out is better to not go to floor as mine is be on legs

May 30, 201114 yr well im not sure (anyone feel free to help me here ) but i think the breeding cages you buy from shop the wire ones are 2 feet long or almost by 1 and a half by 1 and a half high so in saying that one them only houses around 4 birds thats if you have no nest box and its permanent will hold up to 20 very short term i put my birds 8 to a cage for 3 months when i was in the fires up here so when we evacuated to my uncles for then home after wards before i got my flight up if you were to make it to the floor and extend a pop out bit outside for flying bit more i think you may just get away with it so long as you only had say 30 birds no more what do others think ?? although the two aviary you were looking at much better size i think im sorry im having hard time scaling it all in my head Edited May 30, 201114 yr by GenericBlue
