I have been trying to get Dalek to eat other things apart from seed. I have tried putting some lettuce in his cage near his food, and he dragged it in to a corner and ate his seed, I have tried to give him some grapes and he squished it with his foot and then ignored it, I have shredded some carrot and put it on top of his food, he dug under the carrot to get the seed and then ignored it.

 

Please can anyone give me some advice on how to get him to eat veggies and fruit?

 

The birds in the aviary love veggies and fresh fruit, their favourite thing in corn.

 

But Dalek just seems to hate them all, please help!

 

Just keep trying, it might take a long time before he gets up the nerve to try something new, but they usually do, eventually.

Hope these help. Just be encouraged, budgies are quite curious, and they like to play with things, so sooner or later they are going to take a chomp at something!

Agree with Finnie... it does take time and some are harder to encourage than others... It can also help to eat the same foods as them when they're watching... I havn't looked through the links above, but maybe try chopping some veggies up really fine (seed sized) and mix with seed. Hopefully they'll look enough like it that he'll be confused and eat them!?!? lol Good luck and please keep us updated
