or its hormonal unbalanced as cere is brown also looks male in face body looks if you know what i mean but cere says female its a dom pied not rec remember so should have bright blue cere for cock

looks to me like a male but still quite young with the sere being pinkish going threw first molt, hes a blue ringer as you can see in the first image

true did you ever try find his real owner as i read you found him

you could find owner by ring

im not saying you have to

just letting you know you could very easily try if you were concerned with that

 

although he could be a older bird makeing him 7

Its a DF dom pied and as such is likely its cere wont go blue if male at all. DF Dom males usually have a cere that is both pink and blue at the same time.

 

Read us off the ring details for clarification of actual age.

It says a big 04 on ring, can try see the rest tomorrow. I have had manny for almost 5yrs now, so not concerned about finding previous owner. Thanks all for replying. I'm even more confused about the sex now, haha.

no thats not true

if he has a ring the owner would know its numbers and anyway i wasnt saying you had to return him

just saying their is a way if you did want to 5 years though is a bit far gone however

i know if i find a animal i always try to find owner

my alexandra parrot i had him 3 years before i found his rightful people

they let me keep him just because they belived it was fate that he be mine given both sides of the storry of how he was lost and how he was found

if someone got from pet shop and did not record ring then it truly is really yours

as i would not give it to anyone that claimed it was theirs unless they knew its ring code or could at least show you a picture and name colour of ring

if they couldnt do one of the three you are probbly its new better life

you dont advitize the colour or anything not sex nothing

just that you found a bird in this town (what ever town your in ) the date you found it and your number

if anyone rings calming its theirs

first you ask what type they lost c olour dont say colours

then ask date it went missing from where

did they have any special way it was identifiable they would know it had ring and its colour even if no t the number you know its 04 with out looking so sure they would know that also

dont tell them to come see if its theirs ask if they can send you a e mail with picture of it

It mean double factored. Dom pied stand for dominant pied, which is a dominant mutation in contrast to the recessive pied, which you need two birds with the same gene to replicate. Double factor is two of the same gene.

If its a big 04 going around the ring then that wouldnt be the year of hatching. The year of hatching goes vertical on the ring........a symbol and the number 4.........not usually a 04.

 

As far as the sex goes.......if you have had it for 5 years and the cere has never gone brown, that makes it male.

The 04 is vertical, also EB on the band, and some other numbers that wrap around the band. okay then i guess i will stick with male. Otherwise, sorry birdie

Definitely a boy kellyj just that the pied acts on the cere too removing colour there as well so the normal blue cere appears pinky purple.
