Posted August 15, 201015 yr She's about 4 or 5 months old, has already moulted at least a bit..What I want to know is if she is a Green or a Yellowface? She has a lot more blue than my other Greens at the same age currently, plus her shade of green/blue is different so I'm also wondering if she could have some Violet in her? Thanks in advance for any help. :fear
August 16, 201015 yr Author More pictures, if that helps. My opinion is that she is probably a Cobalt Violet YF Opaline Spangle?
August 16, 201015 yr Spangle Opaline Dark Green. I don't think she's through the moult yet and the blue will disappear as this happens.
August 16, 201015 yr though new pics show me she looks only still to be 10 weeks at oldest dont think shes 5 months mate but shes your bird you know howlong youve had her but if shop told you 5 they lied
August 16, 201015 yr i would sit her between 3-5 months. Look under wings for what coloured feathers are there. also which is more her colour? what shows in the first two shots or the last lot?

She hasnt even got visible iris rings....which she would have even in a brown or grey if she was actually up to 5 months. She hasnt. So that would mean she still has her baby feathers and a long way to go before she has her adult colouring. Edited August 16, 201015 yr by KAZ
August 16, 201015 yr She is the same color as some of my current chicks! I was really interested in this thread since I can't tell what mine are either.. even though some say they are green I'm not convinced. Guess I'll have to wait till mine moult to know..
August 17, 201015 yr Author Well she appears to be moulting now, she does have faint iris rings and her stance is mainly fluffed up because it is cold at the moment. So I still think she's about probably 3-4 months, then.. If we can't tell for sure if she is Green or YF, I will be able to tell once she finishes moulting completely, right? (because she may be all green in her feathers by then, but if she is YF, under her wings wil be blue, correct?) As to what photos are the most accurate with colour..Well, depending on the light etc she looks different but I think this photo shows best what she looks like in real life: (and there's a second photo to show you her iris rings. Plus, her eyes are not fully round compared to my other birds, they are more of an..almond shape, I believe could describe it...is that genetic or could she have hurt her eye/s before?)

I will very definitely keep a close eye on her. said she looks sick not that she is sick just be watchful of her and do preventitive treatment of a brodspectrum antibodic like oxey b wont hurt also id bring her out of aviry into a smaller warmer cage and the other birds shes with treat them with oxey b also to be sure after that if she doesnt look better id take for poo and swap of crop before putting into my flock the 50 buck would be worth not loseing anybirds down trace
