July 26, 201014 yr Author Thanks Kaz, I haven't bred many I think maybe 36 to date and i think that is exagerating too. BUT what I have bred is fairly good, I only have a couple I think that will be culled so far. And my excuse is (it is all about quality not quanity ) only because I am getting clear eggs But that saying is working for me :hooray:

August 17, 201014 yr Author A funny thing happened today, but sorry no photos. I went out to the breedroom to take away the soft food off all cages, well when I took the soft food from a wire nappy cage I have to lift the perch a little bit to get the food container out, as the perch is above the door. Well I must of left the door up a bit because a couple of hours later I went out to check and top up feed containers and while I was in the first part of breeding something caught my eye in the far one and I looked up and could see 2 babies sitting on top of the cages and my first thought was they escaped out of the baby aviary. BUT on invastagating they got out of the wire nappy cage. I caught those 2 and put them back in and there was only one other one in there, what a good girl she was staying put, but then and I thought hang on there should be more , looking around I thought what!!! where are they, couldn't find them anyway. Well I looked over into the large nappy cage which is now empty waiting for me to clean it with virkons for the next babies to go into so there is only half of the wire fronts on it with still a perch attached. Well there they were 2 perect little young ladies sitting up on the perch in their old cage, I think they must of remembered be there so they returned. But what a mess they made because I had finger drawers of true grit and PVM powder sitting on the shelf where the 1st 2 were sitting and the the true grit and pvm powder was everywhere, they made a good mess for me to clean up I had spare perches sitting on another shelve and they were on the floor. So yep given the opportunity my do escape
August 17, 201014 yr Author True grit is a red colour and yes the pvm is pink so I had a fine mess to clean up.
