I am a new breeder and my female finally laid her first egg today but she will not sit on it. Is this normal? She is in there a lot but out with her mate alot also.

Hi Ashley. It is normal for the budgie to not sit on the first egg they lay. They generally wait until they have 3 or 4 eggs before sitting continuously. You have nothing to worry about.
