hi all i have a big problem

 

a bird i was treating for scaly face has turned bad.

 

her feet are all swollen and now has a growth on her back somewhere

 

i also went out today and it looks like she has attacked it as there is blood all over the place.

 

i thought the best thing would be to put her down

 

any help on he best way to do it please.

 

i dont want her to have any more pain.

We can not advice how to put down a bird at home. You'll need to get a vet to do it. I know it's Good Friday, and most places are shut, but call a few local vets and see how you go. If you choose not to do this, I'd bring her inside in a small cage, clean her up and put a lamp over the cage to keep her warm. Photos of her will help us advice short term care for her too. Follow the links in my signature if you need.

Due to our past experience you will not get anyone to advise you on a public forum how to euthenase a bird. Doing so has a tendency to attract a whole world of trouble and repercussions that noone wants. Suggest you do what Maesie said and or PM more experienced members to ask for advice behind scenes.

However, I would clean up the bird first and reassess her injuries. It may not be as bad as it looks.

I agree with Kaz. Scaly is easily treated but I am happy if you want to pm me to discuss euthanasia options.

First I believe you need to have a Avain Vet access your bird and see if it can be helped and then you can go with your options.
