February 21, 201015 yr Congrats nubbly on the awards, especially the Lacewings  I remember the Grey it was a really solid bird. You've done well to get such a young bird to the show and win. It was a very tiring day They always are aren't they. But well worth it. Kaz, any chance of ID'ing any of the people shown in your pics as I'd guess none of us on this side of the country would know many by face. Edited February 21, 201015 yr by Daryl
February 21, 201015 yr Author Thanks Daryl! I was just disappointed that Holy Sh*t dropped his tails as he would have given it a good shake I think (but you never do know I guess). But there were some super birds there including a few Nationals placegetters and some young birds that should do well at the selections too. Was a really solid turnout of quality birds. Great to see for such a small zone as ours.
February 21, 201015 yr Gee Kaz how do you like that I thought Cec Gearing was a real old bloke you know about 70 plus, gosh I don't know where I got that from. He looks like he could be younger than me. Thanks for the pics now I have an idea what they look like, instead of guessing All I can say is that I'm absolutely knackered!!!!!!!!!!The G&G stud managed best Lacewing in Yound Bird Derby and best Lacewing in Adult State Show, plus a commended (and best Grey) in the Derby with the nice young grey in shown in my breeding journal (not Holy Sh*t who had dropped his tail or Holy Cr*p who has not yet fully moulted out yet - the other one). Happy about the commended considering he is a 4 1/2 month old bird. A couple others too, best clearwing in the state show (adults), and best BES in the Derby (youngs). We just managed to get home to settle the birds back into the aviary before it got dark too - bonus!Congrats Nubbly

But I know Brenda looks after him well with a very healthy lifestyle and he keeps pretty active. Edited February 21, 201015 yr by nubbly5

February 22, 201015 yr Gosh you have taken some wonderful photos - thanks so so much I love the colours of the yellowface spangle! He is gorgeous. Congratulations to all the winners! Brilliant work Can't wait til I can try and do this
February 22, 201015 yr More award photos... Well that is it... Hope everyone enjoys the latest photos...
February 22, 201015 yr Talk about marked cages, some with seed, no seed a D cup, is this to save on seed or to make it easyer to sweep up,after the show. If so should't it be a standard across all cages, No seed or seed or paper in the bottem of the cage, its a bit hit & miss,by the look of it.
February 22, 201015 yr Author Great photo's thanks LittleBudgie and thanks for your help on the day too!
February 22, 201015 yr It wasn't a problem Nubbly... I was very glad to help out and see how these bigger shows happen... It was just mind blowing to see the amount of people there and the support everyone gave... I even got asked to join the SWBC club... hee hee... Not just yet... One is enough for now...
