Metro Budgie Club Championship Show

Well it is the big one coming up this month ..... (drum roll)

:D The Metropolitan Budgerigar Club CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW! :D

A perfect opportunity for ALL Perth budgerigar lovers to come along and spend a few hours with the seriously sad budgie nuts :grouphug: Yes, that is us - the Show Budgie Breeders.

I think judging will commence around 11ish and sometimes the Show Manager will do an interactive session whereby he brings birds up to the Top Bench and the Judge explains his/her reasonings behind the choices ... I am not guaranteeing this will happen - but it may. :)

On Saturday our esteemed Treasurer Hans Sibbum will be giving a talk on Bird Health and how it impacts on us Breeders. B) Hans himself has had to give up breeding budgies due to their impact on his health. :(

Coffee/Tea and Cake plus a sausage sizzle and cold drinks will be available from the Canteen for a few dollars each.

Good luck with your show renee BUT

Won't it to hot in Jan Renee, do you have a heat clause like us , if ABC news says it will be 35 on their evening news for the following then the show is cancelled or postponed. And if any show carries on their will be no points given.

But if the news says it will be less than the 35 then if shows go ahead the points are given, BUT know one around here will travel with their birds if it 35 plus.

So I will cross my fingers and hope the weather is nice to you guys so you a great Championship show.

Yes, there is a temperature clause but it is too soon to know whether the 23rd will be too hot or not. So watch this space! :D

I thought I'd post now so that everyone has plenty of time to organize if they do want to attend. :D

OOh I'd like to have a look at this! Where abouts is it? Bassendean? Gosh it would be heaven for me!! How exciting!

That seems like a pretty efficiently run show judging from the timetable. How many birds would you expect to cater for to adhere to these times?

Not many by Eastern States standards :D

Out of the Membership we have few committed showing members I'm afraid - Family and Sporting commitments come before Budgie Shows for most (as they should). The die-hards like Kaz, Nubbly and myself are the exception to the rule :D

There is a definite trend here for many Intermediate and Open Breeders to just take National Selections in May seriously and that is when they come out of the woodwork :D As a rule it is the Committee members that are more involved in their own Shows ....

But to answer your question, How many birds? No idea! I'll be stewarding that day and doing the 'running' so NOT TOOO many I hope! :)
