The name velvet did seem a little feminine, but in keeping with the fabric thoughts, what about?

 

Suede - more manly than velvet, but still smooth

 

Denim - blue, very casual, but think James Dean

 

Memphis - home of Elvis, and the blue Suede shoes

 

 

Rats! I am too late! I was going to say that Suede sounds Suave!

 

But I like Memphis, too. (I always think the show type boys look like Elvis, anyway )
