April 17, 201015 yr It is worth mentioning that Omelette was one of Kaz's "big" purchases 2 seasons ago at I think the MBC auction (Kaz will correct me if I'm wrong) :glare: At the time she was very special and has gone on to become the foundation of her flock. It just goes to show that sometimes you can get very, very lucky.

April 17, 201015 yr Not sure it is all abotu luck Renee. Anyone can buy a bird at an auction, it does pay to be selective and to know what you are after, to consult with the breeders regarding what you are buying. Yes, it is good for Karen to have such a good bird, but to put it all down to luck. It is not a raffle, it is an auction. A little different I think
April 17, 201015 yr Hi Kaz she sounds wonderful! I think all studs would benifit from a matriach bird like your Omelette. I had a Grey Green Hen who sounds like her. Unfortunately she died last June after producing a number of chicks over two seasons. Like you I have her children and now the grand children which is great. I love the pics, what sort of camera do you use?
