Posted August 13, 200915 yr Hi, I will soon be buying a breeding pair of budgies from one of the members here and I need some help getting started. I have read through all the information I can find on the forum and on other sites though I was wondering when I do get the birds before I put in a nest box what sort of diet should the budgies be on, what is essential for them to breed properly?. I have got the basics such as a cuttle bone and normal budgie seeds. Also after the budgies lay the eggs is their anything I need to do other then providing the proper diet the budgies need. Any help will be appreciated.
August 13, 200915 yr The best thing is to let them settle in for 4 weeks. Many pairs don't breed as they have been moved to a new aviary and then pair straight away. I leave mine for 4 weeks before pairing. Speak to the b reader that you are buying them off to see what he has been feeding them. If he is any good, he will have them on a good diet. It is best not to change too much too soon.
