Hi,

I will soon be buying a breeding pair of budgies from one of the members here and I need some help getting started. I have read through all the information I can find on the forum and on other sites though I was wondering when I do get the birds before I put in a nest box what sort of diet should the budgies be on, what is essential for them to breed properly?. I have got the basics such as a cuttle bone and normal budgie seeds. Also after the budgies lay the eggs is their anything I need to do other then providing the proper diet the budgies need. Any help will be appreciated. ;)

The best thing is to let them settle in for 4 weeks. Many pairs don't breed as they have been moved to a new aviary and then pair straight away.

I leave mine for 4 weeks before pairing.

Speak to the b reader that you are buying them off to see what he has been feeding them. If he is any good, he will have them on a good diet. It is best not to change too much too soon.
