Df Spangle With Bad Suffusion?

Featured Replies

This little guy came from a DF spangle hen and an opaline spangle cock. I suspect that this chick is just badly suffused... but i just want to check.

There are faint spangle markings on the wings.

Do you agree he's a DF spangle??

I have had a couple that bad, if you keep him put him with a grey hen and they will be all grey greens but it will get rid of the suffusion when you mate the young up later on. That's what I was doing with my yellow DF spangle, I had him with a grey hen for that reason but after laying 4 eggs she attacked him.

i agree, very suffused? No chance of like a clearwing spangle or a diliute spangle or perhaps even cinnamon spangle or something? There's definatly wing markings there

My heavy marked ones have wing markings even my good Yellow DF spangle :D

Gosh i hope to get something like that when i breed my two double factor violet single factor spangles together. Bring on the violet suffusion!!!

i thought was a lute also but decided she was showing me it was breed from a df spangle and a sf spangle explaining why it was df spangle badly suffused ...but i could be just making more out of a simple picture hee hee

Lut?? Really??? her eyes are black. i bought her from an auction last year as a Yellow DF spangle... but i guess they could be wrong. And if she is Lut, then the cock is split lut as they have two all yellow daughters..

Two of their daughters...

liv you are right she is a df spangle hen

she just looks lute in picture

how ever like you said her eyes are black

very nice hen though and lovely strong yellow color

just goes to show the light green to yellow breeding does work well with the yellow birds

i would say she is a light green herself under her yellow coat this being why your chicks are so lovley and bright B)

all light factor no dark

would this be right ??????

Interesting to see how he moulted some of the suffusion out, my 3 Df hens did the same thing, had bad suffusion as babies and now have none at all. weird but good

Definitely DF spangle!!!!!

then why the lack of iris rings?? he is far from being a baby now. Unless he is getting his rings very late, there is not a single sign of them coming in.

You have some beautiful birds Liv do you sell them.I'd be interested if you have a cull

Libby.
