HI everyone i was wondering what mutation my club budgie is and weather it is a Hen or a Cock am not sure with this one. these photos are about 3 to 4 months old i will try and get some new ones tomorrow.

He is a dominant pied. he looks to be a cobalt or a sky violet and in those pictures he is young still B)

I think HE is a cobalt violet. The top picture I think HIS colour is a little washed out due to the flash, however in the bottom picture, I believe HIS deeper true colour is showing.

 

So therefore, you have a Cobalt Violet Dominant Pied Cock.

 

We would all love to see some older pics.

Dominant pied violet sky blue

 

you can tell as the tail feather is aqua it is possibly df violet sky blue as his violet is quiet visable over the sky if he looks to be cobalt then he is for sure df violet

I agree with Dave and Neville, he is a cutie, agree with Liv on him being young.

He is a boy for sure. SF violet, sky blue, Pied. Cobalts have navy/black tail feathers due to being SF dark. I noticed he has one feather on his wing spangled = split to spangled.

There is no such thing as split to spangled I am afraid.....spangle is a dominant gene and as such is always a visual gene and cannot be split for. That bird carries no spangle.

but he could be however split opaline i wouldnt be suprized at all if he was

he is not however opaline so dont think im saying he is

he is sky violet at another look at the newer pics since my last look not df sky violet

a good bird to get some violets with when put with the right colour bird
