December 28, 200915 yr Have you considered legal action? $8,000 is a lot to lose over one sick bird introduced from a reckless seller who sold you the bird in good faith and had you believe it was in good condition. We bought the bird from Sydney. He will not admit to having sick birds and in all contact so far he is accusing us of allowing his birds to catch things from ours. He said we have psittacosis going through and will not listen to vets diagnosis at all, and said his bird has caught psittacosis from ours. It isnt true and we have no psittacosis. He wont answer the phone or emails, and we have tried sending vet documentation and everything is bounced back or returned unopened. Legal action sounds great in theory but will cost us a great deal trying to prove the case unfortunately. I think this really sucks big time and someone needs to nail this guy (legally or Illegally)
December 28, 200915 yr Kaz, I wasn't around the forum much last summer, and I must have missed this whole issue. I am so so sorry for you and Ken. And then everything else on top of it! I was wondering why I hadn't heard anything recently about the princess parrots, and this explains it. I hope Ken is doing well. Depression sucks. My prayers and thoughts are with you, even though it is well after the fact. -Diana

However. it's also pretty poor form that we have to put up with idiots passing on known problem or sick birds to other breeders. Some people have no morals when it comes to a fast buck.

Any budgies I have with "ïssues" are never sold on to others but euthenased so noone buys a problem from me. That's my morals, ethics or philosophy...I wish others would feel the same. There are some "sharks" out there in the bird trading world. Edited December 28, 200915 yr by KAZ
December 29, 200915 yr Haven't been around much due to holidays, but my condolences are with you and your hubby Kaz. I personally never sell sick birds or otherwise and it gives me a knot in my stomach to know that there are others that do because it is exactly your situation I am afraid of inflicting on some other poor person or having someone do to me. So sorry to hear
