i know Kaz.

i just wrote it as it was on the live results feed page.

just in case there was a reason for it.

otherwise i have no idea

Class 12 - Opaline Normal Wing

that is the class kaz

I havent heard it said that way ;)

I think it comes from, some states, name the classes different, opline normal wing is one & the luts & albino is another. If you look at some show results, from the different states, you will pick up,these name changes.

Opaline normal wing as opposed to the Opaline AOSV I would guess.

What is the difference, between the two. and what does AOSV stand for.

A Normal Opaline has black markings.

Any Other Standard Variety Opaline has cinnamonn and grey markings.

Renee comments isnt exactly correct, Opaline AOSV can be either Opaline Cinnamon or Opaline Greywing, not both. In the Opaline AOSV class, as well as Opaline Cinnamon and Opaline Greywings, Opaline Blackeyes among others.

Basically Normal Opaline marked birds are shown as Opalines, anything that retains the Opaline markings but is colour modified is shown in Opaline AOSV.

Quite right Heath - a TYPO! Cinnamon OR Grey OPALINE MARKINGS!

Just wondering if any of the Mods know why this thread was moved from Budgerigar Shows to Breeding Tips ;)

I have no idea but I will fix it ;)

It's now time for everyone to start pairing up for next year.

It's now time for everyone to start pairing up for next year.

Following breeders journals a lot of breeders have pairs already down, hopefully with chicks. Mine were paired up in March and are laying there 2nd round now.

I don't pair up until September and it's always a bugger going to the Nat's coz I get all excited about selecting pairs etc and then have to wait.......... I end up writing down my pairs and having everything ready to go well before my pair up date.

This thread has gone off topic,I would of thought, that all the members on here, would of

had something to say about the birds at the National, especily the novice breeders, after

looking at the photoes of the top 3 placeings,in each class,

My Pick of the National birds without seeing them in the flesh, 1st place Blue, 2nd place cinnamon, 1st place Spangle. Its always hard to critique a bird on 1 picture only. I would be interested to know Daz and Gina's thoughts??

Thats a good exercize Heath, for the forum members to pick

there 3 top birds.

I would agree the Blue, looks the top bird,I like the 2nd placed. Dom Pie &

will give my 3rd pick.when I get back tonight. :)

i pick there 3 top birds yes

the best birds i like were the clearwings look at tham wow

2nd place the blues

3rd place the cinnamons

but i do like the lacewing there good

It's interesting how much different the birds look on photo.

The pick for me (and others I spoke to) was 1st place Cinnamonwing. Many commented that IF there had been a Grand Champion prize then this bird would have taken it out. Personally, I would have given a body part for that bird, he was MAGNIFICENT.......

Another I liked in the flesh were the Hens winner but to be honest nothing else grabbed my attention as much as that Cinnamon.

Well I'm Back in Back ... so they say... Gina you're not the only one the Dave gave the bugg to. Dr Harry's farm was great.. yes he was OS and no he doesn't breed budgies at the moment but we were told that he will be starting that back up.

Macka the Nationals is not only the birds. It's a big part but not the only part. I've spent the past two days with Derick and Debrah Poole at their place and at Swansea.

Nationals: The birds were in fair shape but not great shape. WA had better birds. The Sheppard and Flanagan Crest is still being spoken of. Bruce's Recessive Pied was out standing, but I believe that John and Joy McAllister's Recessive last year was better.

The SQ team was very disappointing this year. Enough said on that one.

Congratulations to P Thurn, Paul I think his name was, a great outcome to have 3 winners in the Clearbody, Fallow and Dominant Pied. You could get three more different varieties. I was bidding for Jean Horrobins Fallow to beat him but it wasn't to be.

Congratulations to Henry George for two more wins. Henry did have a tough time as a number of his (and others) birds fell ill on arrival to Burnie... something about the charf.

.....well it is time I get some sleep. So see every one tomorrow. :D

Its Peter Thurn Daz

My choice from photos only is Blue 1st, Cinnamon 2nd and Spangle 3rd ,what a head that spangle has.

i agree the pics do not give credit i have seen the albino that took out first place and he is beautiful although his picture did not much when i saw it here

so as a noviced i really can not say much as i may say somethig that in life has no place but in picture could be their eg colour is by no means something you can coment on in a picture nor head size as pics from difrent angles show difrent things just like with us people

some birds just dont take good photos
