Exact Rainbow Canary & Finch Food?

Featured Replies

4 months ago I bought Exact Rainbow canary & finch food by mistake and I forgot to take it back. I just found it in one of my closets and it's unopened. I was just wondering if I could mix it with my budgies regular food because I don't want it to go to waste.

Would it be alright to do this or would it make them sick?

Canary seed mix is not toxic to budgies and i have made the same mistake as you before. Seeing as you have had the seed for a while, make sure the seed is still very fresh and clean and hasn't been contaminated with any moisture or moths, mice etc.

If you mix it with your regular food, make sure the mix is less than 50% as there will be some seeds in there that the budgies wont eat.

Sorry but I should had make it clear.... it's more of a pellet food.

It's the same kind as this: http://pet.imageg.net/graphics/product_ima...S-5041813dt.jpg

If they are not already eating pellets you will find that they probably won't gobble it up, you can try and do what Liv said and if they don't eat it see if you can find someone that can use the food :D.

I see.. they may or may not eat it. Perhaps find some one with a canary and give it to them??

There looks to be lots of added colorings etc in the pellets which are not the best for budgies anyway.
