May 18, 200915 yr Lady has been in the nest box soo much but they are really afraid of me for some reason.I hope all goes well and pretty soon I have a handful of rambunctious chicks!!!!!!!!!!!! How often are you checking them? Maybe lay off them and give them some space. It's also important to have the breeding cage is a quiet area... so as to not disturb them.
May 18, 200915 yr Author yeah thanks I don't like check them every couple of hrs and only about once a day. It's pretty quiet! Good thoughts though THanks
May 31, 200915 yr Author Nothing has happened and they have been in there for over a month. so i was thinking that i might put a different girl in with sky???????? what do you think
May 31, 200915 yr I'd put them both back in the avairy... and after the cold of winter, if they look in bredding condition, try another pair. I don't like to breed over winter, but that's just me. I'm also not a regualr breeder either... lol... Good luck

June 1, 200915 yr Author My concience is pricking me to put them in the avairy for a few months but this is a great disapointment to me as I have not had any chicks this season.

June 1, 200915 yr Indeed, sometimes it takes a while before the pair are used to their surroundings and feel comfortable about the cage/aviary that they are in, it took mine 3 months to get used to the aviary before they started laying eggs and raising the youngen's, so its pretty much a waiting game, one thing i learn't with budgie's, or any bird breeding for that matter, is to have patience and if the bird's don't want to breed, i do whats best and let them settle for the months to come until they are in breeding condition once again.
July 7, 200915 yr Wonderful............soon you can breed them again..........I usually breed mine at the end of July, but we are going away so I have to wait until the first or second week in August...... I can't wait to see the babies I get out of the birds i'm breeding this season....
July 9, 200915 yr Author Anne they are together again, read my topic about them here: http://budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=26355forums.
