Maybe he's got violet factor, could that make him look a little blue? I'm sticking with grey though.

I'm on a different screen today and now he almost certainly looks a Grey!!! Cheek patches look nowhere near violet and body colour has only the slightest hint of blue tinge. I think the only true judgement can be made by seeing him first hand.

Judging birds from photos is difficult and this was no more obvious than last night when my club viewed a slideshow of the 2009 National placegetters. Some of these birds looked very different to the pictures published on the ANBC site. Probably also goes to show the risk in purchasing solely from a photograph.

that is the exact reason it is hard to judge any bird

sometimes even the light the photo has been taken in changes the colour

not just the com screen i know this very well as most my birds look compleatly diffrent to what you guys see in photo

but judging for partnership quality the colour shouldnt matter if you going for quality in features so i have been told so i guess it doesnt matter what colour he is grey or mauve hes lovley either way and/ino very nice

even our birds quality suffers hugley if were are not the best at taking pics so really no bird can be judge corectly with out being in frount of you i do agree with that daz very much so.

It's strange I didn't rate him much when I 1st got him he was just being sold as 1/2 of a pair and I wanted the hen but he's growing on me more and more.

As all my birds settle in and finish moulting and I get to know them some that I thought were better birds than others I've ended up changing my mind on

I don't really care if he's mauve or grey but I might put him with this hen as well as the Albino I'd planned for him just to see what turns up in the nest.

Just thought I'd add my new WA birds to this topic :P

Grey Green Cock

Thinking of pairing him with

Light Green Spangle Hen

Although he has become very fond of

Grey Green Cinnamon Opaline Spangle Hen

so I am considering just letting them have their way but my original thoughts for her was

Grey Green Spangle Cock

Then I've got these two boys,

(Brothers who I think would like me to put them in a breeding cage together but that's not going to happen)

Grey/Albino Cock (dubbed B1, he's the lighter of the two)

&

Grey/Albino Cock (B2, a little darker than his bro)

my original thoughts on these guys was to pair them both to this hen

Grey

but know I'm thinking that I might put them with these girls as well

Albino (sisters)

1st girl top perch 2nd girl bottom perch

1st sister is single at the moment and I didn't have any plans for but the 2nd sister I'll be pairing to the cock she's sitting next to on the perch before putting her with one of the above boys.

Any thoughts/suggestions as always very welcome :D
