Posted March 27, 200916 yr Being an ebay "hound" I often see inappropriate cages on ebay. Found another one. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...:X:eRTM:AU:1123 http://www.ozauctionbroker.com.au/images/q...ges-f3401/3.jpg Besides providing spacious housing for your favorite small bird, the round golden shape of the bird cage elegance and charm to your home. It great for finches, parakeets, canaries, budgies, and love birds. This cage lets your bird stay healthy with lots of activity and exercise. A handy pull-out drawer makes cleaning easier, while one perches provide comfortable seating. It also provides two beautiful ceramic water pot. This bird cage is a home that both you and your bird are sure to love. I sent them an email That size cage is not suitable for budgies or parakeets. It is suited to only ONE canary or finch. I own hundreds of budgies, parrots and finches and canaries. It is misrepresentation to say the cage is suited to budgies or anything larger than one only finch or canary. Regards K They have replied Hi there, Thank you for your information. We will modify the listing. Thanks again. Regards, Customer Service Team I hope they do. Edited March 30, 200916 yr by KAZ
March 27, 200916 yr Wow as If a budgie could fit in that cage. It is smaller than a fish bowl.. The bird would be unable to fly at all. Good work kaz. Edited March 27, 200916 yr by Pearce
March 27, 200916 yr Author cool, bidding is closed, did they infact change it?? They havent changed it yet...so I will watch their future listings. I have actually told these people before but they still do these things. Notice the size of the MACAW in comparison to the cage ????????????
March 27, 200916 yr They have shrunk the size of the macaw so it looks like it fits in the cage. look at the size of it compared to the finch and kingfisher.;
March 27, 200916 yr Author These people need sorting out !!!!!!!! Check the bar width on this cage http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1-5M-LARGE-GOLD-PLA...%3A1|240%3A1318 and they say suitable for Ideal for: Breeding Finches, Parakeets, Cockatiels, Lovebirds, Parrot lets, Canaries, any similarly sized birds and other small pets If most of those birds were in that cage they would escape through the bars I emailed them again Hi, I emailed you previously about your small dome cage being unsuitable for anything more than ONE canary or ONE finch. I am now emailing to advise you that the cage in this item for sale is NOT SUITABLE for the finches, canaries, parrotlets, lovebirds you say it is. The bar width is far too spaced for these birds and they will escape through the bars. I am an admin of budgie forum and we are watching for unsuitable cages. You really need to educate yourselves before misleading people about cages. Regards karen Edited March 27, 200916 yr by KAZ
March 27, 200916 yr Author that is .................. thay will not stop doing it kaz Then we all need to send them plenty of emails telling them, dont we
March 27, 200916 yr OMG these people are hopless!! I get so annoyed when i see their cages. I would really pitty any bird in that first one... The only bird i would put in there is one of thoes plastic ones that spin around the perch. As for the one with the large bar spacing, it just proves they have no idea about birds and their size and must only be in it for the money
March 30, 200916 yr Author http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...E:X:AAQ:AU:1123 cage ..... http://i16.ebayimg.com/04/i/001/39/16/7408_10.JPG My email to them.... Dear ozplaza, Please do not mislead by advising small birds for this cage. Bar spacing allows budgies, finches, canaries and lovebirds to escape through these bars. Maximum bar spacing for the smaller birds is 12 mm. that cage is more suited to medium upwards...from cockatiel and larger as your bar spacing is 2cm. I am a bird owner of hundred of budgies, parrots, canaries, finches etc and administrator of a bird forum. Please change your wording as many bird people are watching these items and about to complain. Regards K - kaz_downunder Dear customer, Thanks for your advise. We will do some more research and amend our listings if necessary. At this moment, we believe our listings have provided sufficient information for people to judge on the product, there's no misleading. ---------------------- Best Regards, Sandy Ozplaza Customer Service Team Email: mailto: Website: http://stores.ebay.com.au/Ozplaza-Shop Mar 30, 2009 Please join up with CAGE WATCH EBAY on ebay BBC MEMBERS.................. cages with bar spacing too wide and advice that it suits budgies, finches and canaires when the birds would fit between the bars and escape..... Cages to small for the birds they recommend. WE NEED TO BE PUTTING PRESSURE ON THESE SELLERS TO MAKE CHANGES FOR THE BIRDS SAKES. Edited March 30, 200916 yr by KAZ
March 30, 200916 yr Please join up with CAGE WATCH EBAY on ebay BBC MEMBERS.................. I join!! These cages make me so mad. All the sellers seem to want is money, and dont spare a thought for the poor birds who have to live in these cages.

April 1, 200916 yr This wasn't on ebay but I had to share: Being a design lover, I can see how that could appeal to so many people aesthetically. However on a practical, even humane level that makes me angry to know people think that birds are just wallpaper... :rofl:
April 1, 200916 yr Author This wasn't on ebay but I had to share: I would suggest that this is a submission to an art gallery showing...it is a piece of art or sculture with a meaning known by the artist. It is not meant to be an actual cage.
April 1, 200916 yr Oh, I realise the *intent* :rofl: Unfortunately many people would see that and think it's an awesome idea for a real cage (especially the top where a bird can be up "inside" the bowl) I also hate fishbowls.
April 2, 200916 yr Yeah the bird is actually in the water (I think it is quite cool) Edited April 2, 200916 yr by Sailorwolf
April 14, 200916 yr this cage is only wire mesh that has been crimped together this would only be good for a holding cage or if you cleaned it out and turned it on its side and used it for a flight http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BIRD-CAGE_W0QQitemZ...A1%7C240%3A1318
